About

Deconstruction Specialists, as the name implies, specializes in selective and whole house deconstruction. We are located in Boulder County, Colorado.

What is Deconstruction?

Deconstruction is the exact opposite of construction – it is the dismantling of a building, piece by piece, in the reverse order of its construction. There are 2 main types of deconstruction: Selective and Whole Structure.

Selective Deconstruction

Partial deconstruction – or soft-stripping – involves the careful removal of reusable materials, which typically includes:

  • Interior finishes
  • Doors
  • Lighting Fixtures
  • Appliances
  • Hardwood floors
  • Cabinets
  • Windows
  • Countertops

Whole Structure Deconstruction

Whole structure deconstruction, of either residential or commercial buildings, takes dismantling further to include salvaging materials from the entire structure, such as:

  • Wall studs
  • Trusses
  • Joists
  • Lumber from framing, etc.
  • Plumbing fixtures
  • Wiring
  • Pipes
  • Concrete
  • Architectural features

Typically, 90% or more of the materials in most homes and buildings can be reclaimed for recycling or reuse. Contact us today for a free estimate for your next project.
